Why Professional Content for Social Media Builds Value
by Vinnie Lucido
Wed., March 10, 12:00 - 1:30 CST
If you’re looking for something new from a promising young shop owner, look no further than Vinnie Lucido’s class. Lucido is the owner of CoAuto (Reno, Nev.), a vivid shop bursting with life, from the local art on its walls to its multi-colored tiled floor. Lucido might be the only shop owner committed to the yogic lifestyle and continued search for enlightenment (no, really—he and his wife own land in Belize and host yoga retreats there).
That commitment to learning is matched only by his shop’s commitment to excellence; CoAuto was named VISION Shop of the Year in 2018. Being recognized is great, Lucido says, but the opportunity to learn, grow and connect at VISION is even better.
“The classes are incredible,” he says, “and you take what works for you and leave what doesn’t. The opportunity to sit with other shop owners, the open communication and learning how others do things are what I take with me the most, and VISION helps me realize where we’re short or need to improve.
Last year, for example, Lucido raised prices in order to more accurately reflect the quality of his staff and their work from within CoAuto.
“It’s nice to see this shift within the industry to more proactive, outside-the-box shop owners,” Lucido says. “VISION allows you to meet and see them. You’ll find other owners doing things at a much higher level across the country than you ever imagined.
Lucido’s class will focus on how a little investment into your social media can help catapult your shop’s status within your community. CoAuto already offers an internship program, a local art program, an annual vehicle giveaway to a veteran, and a community education program. Social media, however, allows him to broadcast that in crisp, hi-res photos, and brief, professionally shot videos, easily consumable and like-able. As the clicks grow, so too does the notoriety and professionalism expected from the staff on behalf of the public; it’s a perpetual loop of service meeting community and the community employing CoAuto for service.
“Events like VISION re-energize you, fill you with hope and fire you up with new ideas and strategies. Spin something from what you learn and steal from what other shops are doing—a rising tide raises all ships.
